2+ years of ER experience, 1+ year of trauma experience License:

ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS

Must-Have Skills
  • 100% EPIC experience
  • Culturally competent care for a diverse patient population
  • No previous license hits related to medication diverting or endangerment

Description:

The unit staff consists of multiple nurses, triage nurses, protocol nurses, a charge nurse, and a patient flow coordinator. The emergency department features 55 beds and an additional 8-12 swing beds, including 4 trauma bays. An accelerated care area (fast track) is available for patients. A separate triage area is present; additional orientation may be required for triage responsibilities. Patient holds are managed by RNs, with assistance from other units as necessary.

There are designated psych/seclusion rooms monitored 24/7. The department has in-house security present in multiple zones. The facility handles approximately 250 patients daily, with staff ratios of 4:1 in the main department and 5:1 in the accelerated care area. Common diagnoses include STEMI, Stroke, DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, and Respiratory Diseases. Experience with ABGs, ECGs, and critical care transport is necessary.

Shifts typically require every other weekend and holiday coverage. Nurse and techs work collaboratively to draw blood and conduct patient care activities. Laundry facilities and accommodations are available in proximity to the facility. The surrounding area offers numerous recreational activities, including parks, trails, skiing, and cultural attractions. Sports events, shopping, dining, and various activities are accessible nearby.
