Overview

Cancer Care Northwest is seeking a dedicated full-time Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Demonstrates knowledge of age‑specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Participates in company‑wide quality initiatives and supports the Compliance Program.

• Assists physician with exams and procedures, maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Assesses and records patient data prior to physician visits including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Maintains all exam room disinfection protocols.
• Assesses patients for changes in condition, including abnormal labs, imaging, drug reactions, and initiates appropriate interventions.
• Maintains knowledge of reimbursement procedures, completing all procedure charge forms and ensuring pre‑authorization and consent forms are obtained.
• Skilled in performing venipuncture, accessing implanted ports, and maintaining central line catheter devices; cross‑train to infusion nurse role.
• Administers medications using correct dosage, route, time, and technique (sub‑q, IM, venipuncture).
• Triages patient phone calls and documents relevant information.
• Maintains a clean work environment and restocks supplies; provides nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.
• Follows OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents and biohazardous waste.
• Participates in professional development and maintains professional affiliations; acts as resource person to medical assistants.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Keeps current knowledge of oncology nursing through ongoing education.
• Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing.
