Travel RN - Mother Baby - Post Partum

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Mother Baby / Post Partum position requiring at least 2 years of experience including 1 year in Mother Baby or Post Partum, working 12-hour night shifts.

• Active WA RN license or valid compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in a Mother Baby or Postpartum setting
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification preferred
• Proficiency in breastfeeding assistance and newborn care, including vital signs, thermoregulation, hypoglycemia management, bilirubin monitoring, and care of NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome) babies
• Ability to independently manage 3-4 couplets, provide discharge teaching, vaccinate neonates, and perform thorough maternal and newborn assessments including fundal checks
• Newborn lab and phlebotomy skills, IV skills (adult), and PKU testing experience preferred
• At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start

• Work in a 23-bed Mother Baby Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes postpartum and low-risk antepartum patients
• Caseload of 3-4 couplets (mother and newborn pairs) per shift
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required (every other or every third weekend)
• No on-call requirements outside of voluntary
• Floating may be required to L&D and NICU; voluntary float to Med Surg available
• EMR:
  Epic (experience preferred)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; hospital scrubs are provided and required when floating to NICU
• License verification via NURSYS accepted; candidates with a pending WA license may be considered if proof of application is provided
