American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Spokane, WA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and proficiency in high-risk OB care.

• 12-hour day shifts  and ) on a Sunday-Saturday schedule cycle
• 36 hours per week with every other weekend rotation
• Labor & Delivery unit with 12 beds, 3 ORs, and 2 OB ER rooms within a 388-bed hospital
• Patient population includes high-risk and low-risk antepartum and intrapartum pregnant women, immediate postpartum care, stabilization of normal newborns, and couplet care
• Patient ratios are 1:1 for high-risk patients and 1:2 for standard patients, following AWHONN guidelines
• Skills required include IUPC, FSE, IV starts, and circulating C-sections
• EMR:
  Epic (required)
• IV pumps:
  Baxter; medication dispensing:
  Pyxis; fetal monitoring: GE/Centricity and Philips EFM/tele with centralized EFM and cardiac telemetry capabilities
• Floating to Postpartum and NICU (for Level 2 newborns) may be required
• On-call only applies if called off due to low census on a scheduled shift
• One holiday may be required

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand or pending (proof of application required)
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and EFM;
  Surgical scrub role additionally requires CST
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Proficiency in IUPC, FSE, IV starts, and C-section circulating required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least one supervisory reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start

• Manager interviews are conducted for this position
• Unit support includes a receptionist/HUC and charge nurse available 24/7; charge RN also serves as resource nurse
• RNs are responsible for phlebotomy draws as needed; lab services are available
• Respiratory therapy is available in conjunction with NICU; hospitalist coverage is on-site
• No CNAs on unit; OB technicians assist with scrubbing and vaginal delivery recoveries
• Orientation is typically 2-3 shifts, depending on the RN's competency and comfort level
• Dark blue scrubs are required and provided by the hospital
• Free parking is available in designated areas
