Job Description
The Nursing Assistant functions within their scope of practice under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include assisting patients with basic nursing care, maintaining hygienic, nutritional, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs, collecting vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure), performing urine drainage, transporting patients, and obtaining supplies and equipment from designated departments.
Responsibilities- Assist with basic nursing tasks under RN supervision
- Meet patients' hygienic, nutritional, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs
- Collect and report vital signs (TPR and BP)
- Perform urine drainage and other delegated tasks
- Transport patients as needed
- Obtain supplies and equipment from designated departments
- Assist with delegated responsibilities after orientation
- Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire
- National Provider BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire
