Neuro Telemetry Registered Nurse – Neuroscience

Weekends:
Yes — every other weekend

Requirements:

• Valid state license required
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required
• Neuro experience required (post-op neurosurgery and varied neurology diagnoses)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Proficiency with NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Experience with telemetry, post-op neurosurgical patient care, stroke/CVA care, and management of dysrhythmias

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a designated stroke unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, managing any dysrhythmias.
• Deliver care to post-operative neurosurgery patients, including those who have undergone craniotomy.
• Manage care for stroke and CVA patients, including those requiring thrombectomy procedures.
• Provide care for patients with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.
• Administer BI-PAP and CPAP as well as manage chest tubes and procedural sedation monitoring.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 36 hours
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 specified holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Background checks do not accept Nursys or background hits.
• Local rule: 50-mile radius; can only be subbed to one facility at a time.
