Registered Nurse – Neuro / Telemetry

Schedule:

Every other weekend required

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• Neuro / neurosurgical / telemetry experience required
• Valid state RN license (compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Comfortable with NIH Stroke Scale and post-operative neurosurgery care

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a neuroscience, neuro stepdown, telemetry unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing and managing dysrhythmias.
• Conduct NIH Stroke Scale assessments and provide post-operative care for neurosurgery patients.
• Manage care for patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and strokes.
• Offer respiratory support, including BiPAP/CPAP, and manage chest tubes as necessary.
• Monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation, ensuring safety and stability.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must commit to working 3 of these 5 holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• References: 2 required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Facility does not accept Nursys or background hits.
