Neuro Telemetry RN - Neuroscience

Schedule:

Every other weekend required.

Requirements:

• Valid state RN license required;
  Compact license must be in hand at submission.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• Neuro/Neurosurgical experience required (post-op neuro care, varied neurology diagnoses).
• Comfortable with NIH Stroke Scale / designated stroke unit care.
• Telemetry experience and dysrhythmia recognition/management.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS competency expected.
• Core clinical skills:
• Post-op neurosurgical care / craniotomy care.
• Stroke/CVA care (thrombectomy-capable unit).
• Telemetry monitoring; dysrhythmia recognition/management.
• BiPAP/CPAP management; chest tube management.
• Procedural sedation monitoring; spinal cord injury; TBI care.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients in a designated stroke unit with a focus on neurology and neurosurgical care.
• Provide post-operative care for neurosurgical patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Assist with procedures and emergency interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and healthcare needs.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 36 hours.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• Pre-approved time off:
  Two days (per contract).
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities; refusal may result in termination/forfeiture of hours.
