Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring high-risk L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details
  • Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with 629 staffed beds
  • Labor & Delivery unit caring for high-risk labor, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC patients
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
  • Some weekend shifts required
  • Floating between units required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Staffing ratios:
    Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Experience with 1:2 patient ratios
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
  • Experience with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation/scrub, and hemorrhage/shock management
  • Experience managing patients with pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, and preterm labor
  • Proficient in fetal monitoring including EFM, internal fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
  • Assist with high-risk and low-risk vaginal deliveries and C-sections
  • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
  • Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
  • Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management and lactation support
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply given independent L&D experience
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless applying as local
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
  • Can only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
  • May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
