A registered nurse specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry in an acute care setting, available in a short-term facility. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care on a designated stroke unit and neuro-focused units, with a focus on neuro patients, including post-surgical neurology and stroke care. The position requires flexibility to float between units and adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.

• Schedule:
  
  12-hour day shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Valid state license (compact license accepted), minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical with Telemetry, neuro experience preferred, proficiency with NIH scale, certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, neuro patient care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and proficiency with Epic electronic charting system.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Experience with Neuro Stepdown, post-neurosurgery care, procedural sedation, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injury.
• Float:
  Float rotation may be required to meet unit needs.
• Additional Information:
  • Performed on a designated stroke unit, thrombectomy-capable and JCAHO-designated.
  • Experienced team with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.
  • Responsibilities include neuro patient assessments, management of neuro-specific procedures, and emergency interventions.
  • Orientation includes 36 hours of preparation, with modules completed prior to start.
  • Candidates must be prepared to work three of the five major holidays and submit all scheduling requests during application.
