Job Overview

Environmental Monitoring (EM) Supervisor responsible for scheduling, sampling, data collection, and analysis within ISO‑classified areas. Provides leadership to a team of EM technicians and specialists and supports audit responses while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and/or train EM personnel on performing investigations.
  • Review lab results for accuracy and compliance with SOPs.
  • Serve as a back‑up for all lab personnel (water testing, particle monitoring, EM monitoring, HEPA testing, etc.).
  • Administer the EM database: oversee training of EM technicians on the use of the database and ensure database accuracy.
  • Review and/or prepare SOPs as needed for EM.
  • Establish objectives and conduct performance reviews with direct report personnel.
  • Conduct investigations related to EM data excursions and provide written assessments for action/alert investigations and Level 1/2/3 incidents.
  • Monitor EM regulatory agency changes, guidance documents and USP revisions and recommend necessary changes.
  • Manage the data entry, issuance, and disposition of all EM data forms.
  • Notify management of possible problems with ISO‑classified areas, WFI system, and other EM‑related areas.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, or a related hard science (required).
  • 6 months of related leadership experience can substitute for a hard science degree; 4 years of solid QA/QC, Pharma Manufacturing, or related supervisory experience can substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of related pharmaceutical experience in aseptic processing, environmental monitoring, cGMP, and microbiological techniques (required).
  • Lead experience (required).
  • Laboratory experience (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required).
  • Mechanical aptitude desired.
  • Knowledge of statistics and college‑level math desired.
  • Managing conflict and influencing outcomes (required).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (required).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and conflict management (required).
  • Ability to summarize and report conclusions and recommendations in both verbal and written form (required).
  • Strong troubleshooting and investigative techniques (required).
  • Ability to perform investigations looking at the entire picture, evaluate impacts, and notify necessary parties (required).
  • Resolve resistance related to cost, time, and resource issues for corrective actions (required).

Compensation & Benefits

Hiring Wage: $45.50 – $61.56, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
