IREACH Outreach Coordinator/Tribal Liaison

About the RoleYou will exercise independence in developing, planning, and leading IREACH's research engagement and outreach activities focused on urban and rural AI/AN populations locally in Washington, regionally in the Pacific Northwest, and nationally. In this role, you will develop and implement a comprehensive marketing, outreach, and engagement strategy.
You will provide direction to research coordinators, faculty, and IREACH staff in implementing outreach strategy, and engage in strategic planning with tribal and urban clinics and community organizations in Washington State to determine the intersection of community health and academic research between IREACH and Native communities. You will seek consultation from project Principal Investigators, faculty leads, and senior research coordination staff, but will exercise independent judgment in day-to-day decision-making and project oversight.
The position includes travel to practices and communities throughout Washington State, conducting outreach, and implementing research projects that crosscut topics, methods, and scope. You will provide research support to project investigators, oversee the implementation of research protocols, manage project timelines, and coordinate other research tasks. You will independently manage the IREACH Community Partner Contact List and provide oversight of research staff contributions to the IREACH Research Registry.

- Develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies.
- Provide direction and oversight to IREACH staff and project investigators.
- Coordinate travel to practices and communities throughout Washington State.
- Oversee implementation of research protocols and manage project timelines.
- Coordinate research tasks and maintain the IREACH Community Partner Contact List.
- Oversee research staff contributions to the IREACH Research Registry.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with three (3) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Master's degree may substitute up to one year of required experience.
- Background in Native American Studies, Tribal Planning, Public Health, Biology, Communications, Social Sciences, Social Work, or related area.
- Three (3) years of project management or related experience.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one by hire.
- Experience working with Native populations and knowledge of AI/AN cultures, laws, and regulations.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience developing research programs in higher education, healthcare, social services, or tribal settings.
- Experience with research databases and Access.
- Experience with randomized controlled trials.
- Data analysis experience.

CompensationMonthly salary ranges from $4,942.10 to $7,569.55, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary placement within this range depends on the candidate’s experience.
Additional InformationThe position is a 12-month fixed-term appointment, renewable annually contingent on funding. The screening of applicants begins April 30, 2026.
