We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our Dietary Services team in a skilled nursing facility. This position plays an important role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and ensuring our residents receive safe, high-quality meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

The Prep Cook/Dishwasher assists with food preparation, dishwashing, kitchen sanitation, and other daily dietary operations. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, working as part of a team, and making a difference for the residents we serve.

Pay Range: $18-$22 DOE

Must be available weekends

Responsibilities
  • Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, and preparing ingredients
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work areas in accordance with food safety and infection control standards
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning up meal service
  • Stock and organize kitchen supplies and food items
  • Properly handle label, store, and rotate food products
  • Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dishwashing areas
  • Follow facility policies, sanitation procedures, and food safety requirements
  • Assist cooks and other Dietary Services team members as needed
  • Perform other duties related to kitchen and meal service operations as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and communicate respectfully with residents and staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with kitchen work
  • Must be able to follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
  • Preferred:
    Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility
