JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and interact with customers.
  • Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
  • Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for customers’ needs.
  • Answer customers questions about merchandise and assist customers with purchase decisions.
  • Accurately complete sales using the POS system according to established procedures.
  • Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale.
  • Stock and rotate product.
  • Assist in keeping the store clean.
  • Assemble and organize products and displays.
  • Assist customers with loading and unloading products as needed.
  • Process returns and exchanges.
  • Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills.
  • Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to excellence & high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a retail setting.
  • Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.
SCHEDULE

This is a part-time position; 16-32 hours per week (schedule may vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$17.25 - $19.80 per hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, part-time employees are eligible for:
