Overview

Lead the Footwear department by delivering expert product knowledge and an exceptional athlete experience focused on fit and performance. As a Team Captain – Footwear you will coach teammates, drive sales, and ensure the department is always ready to meet athlete needs. Help athletes perform at their best while growing your leadership career.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by anticipating athlete needs and providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment. Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment standards, etc.
  • Contribute to the development of 30-60-90 day plans to support business priorities for the assigned department. Help establish operational initiatives, staffing, hiring needs, and merchandising plans in accordance with budgets and goals.
  • Communicate departmental goals and plans to direct reports and assign workload based on skill levels to maximize efficiencies. Monitor progress against plans, pivot as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations and athlete support while meeting payroll and financial goals.
  • Build and lead a strong, effective team that delivers positive athlete experiences. Lead sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining direct reports. Provide coaching, feedback, development, recognition, and motivation throughout tenure. Manage performance reviews, promotions, and accountability.
  • Adhere to and enforce policies related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures. Hold teammates accountable for compliance.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Previous retail/customer‑facing experience required
  • Previous people leadership experience preferred
