We are hiring a Market Development Representative on behalf of a leading Software/SaaS company client in the EdTech space.
As a Market Development Representative you are a proactive, outbound-focused member who is responsible for generating qualified opportunities for Regional Vice Presidents. This position combines traditional sales development outreach with market research and segmentation, ensuring the organization connects with the right institutions using relevant, timely messaging.
This role is well suited for individuals who excel in high‑activity, goal‑oriented environments and enjoy research‑driven outreach. Successful candidates are strong communicators who can engage prospects thoughtfully while staying aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
Your Responsibilities Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation- Engage prospective clients through phone calls, email outreach, Linked In messaging, and events to identify and qualify opportunities
- Maintain consistent daily and weekly outreach activity in line with MDR/SDR performance expectations
- Personalize messaging based on research into institutional needs, stakeholder roles, and global mobility objectives
- Proactively identify and generate new opportunities within defined target markets
- Research institutional structures, key stakeholders, and decision‑making processes
- Analyze program models, enrollment trends, and organizational needs to prioritize outreach efforts
- Monitor market signals and insights to support territory planning and strategy
- Conduct initial discovery and qualification conversations with prospective clients
- Assess needs and determine alignment with available solutions
- Schedule well‑qualified discovery meetings for Regional Vice Presidents, ensuring clear and complete handoffs
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in the CRM system
- Stay informed on product updates, campaigns, events, and competitive insights
- Partner with Marketing to test messaging, refine outreach sequences, and improve engagement
- Participate in coaching sessions, team meetings, and relevant industry events
- Contribute to a collaborative, values‑driven team culture focused on learning and growth
- 3–5 years of full‑time experience in sales, sales development, admissions, or a related field, ideally within:
- A quota‑driven environment
- A high‑volume outbound role
- A performance‑based setting
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed activity, pipeline, or revenue targets
- Experience generating and qualifying leads through multi‑channel outreach
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience using CRM platforms (Hub Spot preferred)
- Professional experience in higher education, international education, admissions, or global mobility
- Background in SaaS, technology, or startup environments
- Familiarity with study abroad, international student services, or risk management workflows
- Experience analyzing spreadsheets, reports, or sales funnel metrics
- Professional and thoughtful online or social media presence
