Bering Straits Professional Services (BSPS) is seeking a qualified Armed Security Guard for the CDC in Spokane, WA. The guard enforces security regulations, exercises judgment in determining appropriate response, and maintains physical fitness and proficiency with firearms or other weapons.

• Conduct routine checks of assigned locations, adjusting schedules as needed and documenting deviations.
• Perform guard duties including testing, monitoring, and responding to fire alarms, electronic security systems, and emergency evacuation plans.
• Notify the Front Desk and, if necessary, emergency services of emergencies or incidents affecting Government interests.
• Report equipment malfunctions and potential fire hazards promptly.
• Handle lost and found items and attempt to return property to rightful owners.
• Participate in quarterly emergency exercises, documenting and reviewing outcomes.
• Issue identification cards and manage visitor center operations.
• Assist with traffic operations and conduct patrols, responding to alarms and incidents as needed.

• Minimum age 21 years.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• U.S. citizenship.
• No revocation or denial of private investigator or security guard license.
• No felony convictions in any state or territory.
• No bankruptcy or financial distress in the past 48 months.
• No convictions for illegal weapon possession or drug distribution.
• No unauthorized private investigation or security guard activities.
• Position of Trust requirement.
• Valid Security Guard License for the state of application.
• Full background checks: employment verification, education, residence history, military service, criminal record, drug screening, credit report, driving history.
• Basic knowledge of computerized access control and video monitoring.

• Proficiency with computer applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Completion of bi‑annual firearms qualifications and First Aid/CPR/AED every 2 years.

Candidates must meet a medical surveillance program, including an annual medical physical. Fitness standards require meeting or exceeding the 25th percentile in flexibility, upper body strength, and cardio‑respiratory fitness, with annual requalification.

• This position is not subject to federal DOT safety‑sensitive functions.

• Exposure to inclement weather, long periods of standing/sitting/walking, computer work, and emergency situations.

• No supervisory responsibilities.

Pre‑employment drug screening and background checks are required. BSNC prefers shareholders, descendants, and spouses who meet minimum qualifications.
