Job Summary

This role develops and conducts statistical and trend analysis on complex and high exposure cases to support the needs of the Special Investigations Unit in identifying, detecting, investigating and mitigating insurance fraud.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manages and facilitates high exposure and complex analytical projects; prepares detailed data and analytical reports, visual aids, and other informational materials using the latest industry recognized technologies.
  • Performs advanced data mining and evaluation of claims data using all claims systems to identify fraud vulnerabilities for further investigation by SIU.
  • Uses judgment and discretion to determine how to conduct the analysis in a manner appropriate to the issues presented.
  • Supports all research, analysis, and presentation of information by producing detailed reports compiling and summarizing the information.
  • Supports the development and implementation of fraud strategies by providing a work product reflecting innovation and industry leading analytics in an ever changing environment.
  • Develops reports and communicates findings to SIU and Claims Leadership teams/organization.
  • Assists the leadership team with technical support.
  • Assists and provides support to peers with the preparation of reports and use of information systems, software, database access, and related sources of information.
  • Continually develops analytical skills through outside education opportunities, participates in local industry fraud organizations and technical resources; attends industry recognized intelligence meetings and conferences.
  • Establishes and maintains liaison and cooperation with public and private industry organization(s) charged with prevention, detection and prosecution of insurance fraud.
  • Assists the leadership team with special projects, and may provide back up support for the team as needed.
Physical Actions

Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information.

Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
