Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Electrician/ Electrician Installation
Convergint is looking for a full‑time Technical Apprentice who is enthusiastic, results‑driven, and forward‑thinking to join our dynamic team. In this role you will grow with Convergint while contributing to our commitment to quality service for customers, colleagues, and communities.
Time in Role:
Approximately 1 year (program completion may occur before the 1‑year mark).
- 50‑week on‑the‑job training with milestone tracking

Responsibilities- Participate in our Recruit Awesome People program, promoting a colleague‑first culture and referring top talent.
- Install, program, start‑up/check‑out, certify, and provide related customer training on assigned fire, security, and/or building automation projects—typically small to medium projects with manageable complexity.
- Support larger, more complex projects as needed and able.
- Deliver assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules with guidance as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Basic construction skills and understanding of system plans.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, design drawings, wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, cable support installation (J‑Hook, raceway, conduit).
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude, including use of hand and power tools (drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper); solid math skills.
- Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. - Minimum experience:
Basic construction with some electrical or low‑voltage background. - Preferred experience:
1–3 years of relevant experience in electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, data‑cable installation, and/or building automation (not required).
