- Perform HVAC control system troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and low‑voltage control components.
- Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools and a variety of hand tools, including electrical testing meters and other electronic testing equipment.
- Provide front‑line technical and repair support through effective communication with Johnson Controls customers.
- Recommend system repairs or updates and assist in proposing solutions to customers.
- Deliver the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor to provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Work as a dedicated member of a North America Branch team, learning and being responsible for system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services.
- Diagnose electrical and electronics issues.
- Load Johnson Controls field and network‑level controller software.
- Perform commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers and end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators).
- Complete required commissioning documentation.
- Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks such as time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes and provide as‑built documentation.
- Participate in company‑sponsored or personally initiated training to maintain high knowledge and capability.
- Engage customers to fully understand their systems and needs.
- Communicate with contractors or customers upon arrival and before departure of the work site.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure efficient facility operation, including upsell opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- Vocational school program or associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field.
- Three years of industry experience servicing electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Understanding of HVAC systems, sequencing, and applications.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro‑mechanical fields.
- Proficiency with hand, power tools, and electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter.
- Solid knowledge base in personal computer use.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication and listening skills.
$25–33 hourly, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data. Exceptional candidates with unique skills may be considered for compensation beyond this range.
