Building Maintenance Staff

The Building Maintenance staff are responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and installing building wiring and assisting with the repair or replacement of associated building machinery, equipment, and general facilities maintenance duties.

Qualifications
  • Must have strong electrical installation and repair experience, prefer a journeyman level craftsman with licensing
  • Previous experience in light construction work and HVAC desired
  • Must be able to follow instruction
  • Must be able to install electrical in compliance with the NEC
  • The ability to perform work involving power tools, ladders, and other equipment as needed
  • Ability to organize work flow on a daily basis is required
  • Manual dexterity and ability to operate equipment, and understand proper use of various power equipment and tools
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Self‑motivated to ensure building and surroundings are attractive, clean, and well functioning
  • Positive attitude; takes pride and ownership in job
  • Ability to think and act quickly, problem solve, and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional, helpful, and poised demeanor.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); formal trade training preferred. Prefer a journeyman level craftsman with licensing. Minimum age of 18 years.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
