JOB SUMMARYCome over to HVAC...you won't go back. Welcome to the dark side! We're looking for a skilled, dependable Licensed Electrician to join the Cline's team and take ownership of the electrical side of our HVAC installations and service work and build out an electrical division. This role is hands‑on and varied. You'll handle equipment startups, panel change outs, dedicated circuit installs, disconnects, and a wide range of residential and light commercial electrical jobs across our Washington and Idaho service area.
This is more than a wiring role. You'll be the electrical expert our install crews, service techs, and customers rely on. From mini‑splits and heat pumps to tankless water heaters and full panel upgrades, you'll ensure every job is code‑compliant, safe, and built to the high standard Cline's is known for. You'll work closely with installers and project managers to keep jobs moving on schedule, troubleshoot issues in the field, and represent Cline's with the professionalism and craftsmanship our customers expect.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES HVAC Electrical Installation & Startup- Perform electrical hookups and startups for new HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini‑splits, and tankless water heaters.
- Install line voltage and low voltage wiring for HVAC systems, ensuring proper sizing, routing, and termination.
- Coordinate closely with HVAC installers to ensure clean handoffs and integrated system performance.
- Verify equipment is wired to manufacturer specifications and commission systems alongside install crews.
- Perform residential and light commercial panel changeouts, upgrades, and service swaps.
- Install dedicated circuits, disconnects, sub‑panels, and breakers as required for HVAC and ancillary equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues found during installs or service calls.
- Pull permits and coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions in both Washington and Idaho.
- Ensure all work meets NEC, Washington, and Idaho state and local code requirements.
- Maintain quality control standards on every job, leaving each site clean, organized, and code‑compliant.
- Document work performed, materials used, and any deviations or change orders clearly.
- Identify and proactively communicate scope gaps, safety issues, or code concerns before they become problems.
- Travel between job sites across the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene service areas.
- Communicate clearly with project managers, installers, service techs, and customers.
- Mentor and train HVAC installers on basic electrical best practices to reduce callbacks and improve overall quality.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean, organized, and operational condition.
- Represent Cline's with professionalism, respect, and integrity on every jobsite.
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and contractors, explaining work in terms they understand.
- Take pride in craftsmanship every panel, every circuit, every connection should reflect the Cline's standard.
- Active Washington 01 administrator license required.
- Idaho Journeyman Electrician license required (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire reciprocity available).
- 3+ years of hands‑on electrical experience in residential and/or light commercial settings.
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC and applicable Washington and Idaho electrical codes.
- Experience with HVAC‑related electrical work strongly preferred including mini‑splits, heat pumps, panel upgrades, and dedicated circuits.
- Familiarity with low voltage control wiring for HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment wiring diagrams.
- Skilled with multimeters, megohmmeters, and standard electrical testing and hand tools.
