Overview
As an Experienced Auto Glass Technician, you will serve on the front line’ of the Safelite customer experience, bringing advanced technical expertise and a strong sense of ownership to every job. This role suits a highly skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional service. You will leverage your deep industry knowledge, along with Safelite’s cutting-edge tools, training, and technology, to perform complex repairs, replacements, and recalibrations—both in‑shop and through our Mobile Glass Shop services.
Responsibilities- Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service. Clean customer vehicles after each job.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.
- Proficiently operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), mandatory chemicals, Safelite Way of Fitting procedures, work order and customer administration systems, and the handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
- Communicate with all scheduled customers in‑person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay, ranging from $25.25 to $33.50 per hour.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license (and any other required license(s)).
- Safelite Safe Tech™ certification.
- Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred).
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws, subject to in‑cab vehicle safety camera and video surveillance monitoring.
- Maintains professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service and exceeding expectations.
- Ability to safely work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
- Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals, as applicable per the Safelite Way of Fitting.
- Ability to work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs.
- Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues.
- Problem‑solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to read, write and interpret the English language and technical directions.
- Ability to communicate orally (via phone) and in writing (via computer or other electronic means).
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company uniform and PPE policies.
- Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition.
