Salary Range: $30.00 To $40.00 Hourly
This position is CONTINGENT on contract award. This position will work from the Fairchild AFB outside of Spokane, WA

The Aircraft Mechanic II – Sheet Metal performs KC-135 aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and documentation in support of organizational/intermediate/depot-level maintenance requirements at Fairchild AFB, WA with potential TDY support to other KC-135 locations as directed. The position specializes in sheet metal, aircraft structures, structural repair, corrosion-related maintenance, and related aircraft maintenance tasks.
- Perform KC-135 aircraft structural maintenance, sheet metal repair, inspection, troubleshooting, modification, and documentation.
- Inspect, repair, replace, and modify aircraft structures and structural components using approved technical data.
- Perform sheet metal layout, drilling, riveting, fastening, trimming, fitting, and related aircraft structural repair tasks.
- Support corrosion identification, prevention, treatment, and repair activities as assigned.
- Interpret and apply technical orders, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, work instructions, and other approved technical data.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, pre-flight, thru-flight, post-flight, and inspection-related tasks as assigned.
- Use aircraft maintenance tools, torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, sheet metal brakes, shears, drills, rivet equipment, and other approved equipment as required.
- Document maintenance actions in approved aircraft forms, records, logs, and Government maintenance systems.
- Comply with Tool Control, FOD prevention, safety, quality, security, and local operating requirements.
- Provide technical guidance or on-the-job training to less experienced mechanics as directed.
- Support TDY maintenance operations at other KC-135 locations as required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience on an Air Force wide-body platform, preferably KC-135, or equivalent experience is required.
- Aircraft sheet metal, aircraft structural repair, modification, inspection, and corrosion-related experience is required.
- Experience using aircraft technical orders, drawings, blueprints, and maintenance documentation is required.
- A&P certification is preferred but not required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess and maintain a current Secret security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS TDY travel, as required by the contract or task order.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license if required.
- Must obtain all certifications and training required to perform assigned duties.
