Job Title
Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is a leading fiber optic full turnkey contractor headquartered in Spokane, Washington with offices throughout the West Coast specializing in splicing/testing and placing fiber optic cables. An Aerial Underground Construction will perform tasks within the telecommunications construction industry.
This OSP field role performs itinerant fiber work, including anchors, strand placement, cable lashing, and riser construction. Technicians ensure all field work aligns with engineering specifications and established OSP standards. Core responsibilities include maintaining and repairing aerial and underground fiber networks, completing accurate field documentation, supporting project timelines, and delivering high-quality splicing and testing.
This position requires extensive travel—up to 80%—across metro, commercial, and rural sites, and reports to our Spokane, WA office.

Pay: $23.00 - $33.50 per hour based on experience.
RequirementsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
At least 1 year of previous experience in the fiber optic field is preferred.
Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company's minimum safety standard. CDL is preferred but not required.
General knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods. Previous Lead/Foreman experience is a plus.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.
In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products and networking.
Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift and/or move up to 75 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl and stand for long periods of time.
Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.
Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to work.
Schedule:
Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
8-hour shift, Monday – Friday, on call rotations required.
Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed in addition to regular travel.
Travel will be required and may be up to 80% depending on business needs.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment screen, to include a drug test and an acceptable driving record. This is a safety sensitive position.
