Summary: Provide Housing & Essential Needs (HEN) services to persons deemed eligible by the Department of Social & Health Services and in accordance with the grant requirements funded by the City of Spokane. Offer case management services to develop and execute Housing Stability Plans and provide essential needs. Work cooperatively with referral agencies and community entities to ensure desirable outcomes for HEN recipients.
Must pass background and driver record checks.
Education &/or
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effectively assist participants in achieving housing stability.
- Ensure participants receive the necessary assistance to promote housing stability, including needs assessment, creating Individualized Housing Plans (IHP), monitoring from intake to exit, and ensuring essential needs are obtained.
- Document participant eligibility; determine household needs; gather and record information on income, benefits, background, supports, and living situation to coordinate effective services.
- Co‑ordinate and provide essential needs to help participants achieve and maintain stable housing.
- Collaborate with community agencies to ensure IHPs are achieved.
- Use informal community networks to locate resources and make referrals in support of IHP.
- Participate in meetings, staffing, and other activities to review the effectiveness of IHPs and overall case management efforts.
- Assist with the development and implementation of programs and services.
- Assist with screening referrals for appropriate program and service options.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with participants, referral agencies, and all team members.
- Follow up on participant progress and provide encouragement.
- Ensure all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate, and in compliance, including case notes and other documentation required by the program or GIIN management.
- Stay informed of state and federal laws affecting the organization and the people it serves.
- Provide services in accordance with Goodwill policies, CARF standards, and principles of safety.
- Assist in developing natural supports for participants.
- Help participants achieve the highest level of independent functioning while receiving services.
- Facilitate person‑centered planning to determine vocational goals, recommend appropriate services, and oversee agreed‑upon program goals.
- Model appropriate work behaviors and interpersonal skills.
- Inform business, labor, and the general public about Goodwill services and available potential employees.
- Work collaboratively with Workforce & Family Services to provide participant services.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest to ensure safety of personnel or property.
- Properly wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain agency confidentiality; violations result in immediate dismissal.
- Comply with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
- Other duties as assigned.
