Young Adult Housing Case Manager (Housing Specialist)

Spokane, WA | Full-Time

We are pleased that, due to growth and internal promotions, we are looking for two passionate, mission‑driven humans to join our team!

Position Summary

The Young Adult Housing Case Manager supports youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability by connecting them to services and helping them secure and maintain stable housing. This role works closely with community partners and landlords to ensure a coordinated, individualized approach to meeting client needs and promoting long‑term stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide services to youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability
  • Accept referrals and assist participants in identifying and securing safe, stable housing
  • Build relationships with community providers, landlords, and other partners
  • Provide case management services, including service planning, referrals, and advocacy
  • Support participants in accessing needed resources, benefits, and services
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and data entry
  • Participate in community collaboration and outreach efforts
  • Maintain compliance with program, agency, and funding requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Health, or a related field and a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience working with youth, young adults, or vulnerable populations

OR

  • High School diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of equivalent work experience
Preferred
  • Experience working with at‑risk, runaway, or homeless youth
  • Experience in shelter, residential, behavioral health, or integrated care settings
Licenses and Certifications
  • Ability to obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential within 30 days of hire
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain required insurance
Pre‑ferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience providing behavioral health support, psychoeducation, or crisis intervention
  • Knowledge of Medicaid behavioral health documentation standards
  • Familiarity with trauma‑informed care, harm reduction, and strengths‑based practices
  • Experience with HMIS or electronic health record systems
  • Experience working with high‑acuity populations

  • Ability to work within the scope of a non‑licensed behavioral health role and seek supervision when needed
  • Strong interpersonal and therapeutic engagement skills
  • Ability to build rapport with young adults experiencing trauma and instability
  • Strong crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Ability to balance documentation, participant engagement, and operational responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams
