Overview

Assistant Program Manager – Evangeline’s House. The Salvation Army seeks an Assistant Program Manager to support program operations, provide shelter and supervision for foster youth and emerging adults in emergency placement, and assist the Program Manager as needed.

• Assist the Program Manager as needed and participate in lead/management meetings
• Manage program operations within the program’s structure, including supervising staff and youth
• Communicate effectively with professional agencies and administration
• Prepare and manage an annual budget and compile monthly statistics
• Lead program development, revisions of practices, and serve as the agency’s public relations representative with the Program Manager
• Attend meetings, prepare/present disciplinary actions when needed, and provide relief for staff when necessary
• Oversee staff schedules, timesheet procedures, and breaks; maintain Background Check Log
• Maintain records of trainings and certificates for staff; ensure all required paperwork is filed
• Contribute to program morale and foster positive, professional relationships
• Support new employees/volunteers by explaining policies and procedures
• Adhere to Child Safety policies; ensure HIPAA, WAC guidelines, licensing, and local policy compliance
• Model appropriate behavior for youth and enforce disciplinary guidelines; implement de-escalation and restraint as needed
• Coordinate youth transportation needs (HEART Program, school bus schedules, off-site needs)
• Provide supervision to ensure safety of all children in care; administer medications as required and document daily
• Complete intake and discharge paperwork when needed; communicate with caseworkers and other agencies
• Manage facility security and maintain cleanliness; assist with snow removal when necessary
• Support shift coverage, including holidays; participate in on-call rotations

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field OR five years of related experience (High School Diploma or GED acceptable)
• One or more years of supervisory experience preferred
• 21 years of age; valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to pass TSA Driver Training and background checks
• Proficient in typing, organizing, filing; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related software
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse populations
• Maintain confidentiality of personal information
• Experience or knowledge in customer service, social services, and local resources
• Annual Mandated Reporter training;
  First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens training (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to obtain and maintain clear TB test results; participate in de-escalation and restraint training
• Pass Criminal and DSHS Background Checks
• Capable of auditory and visual supervision and able to interact with youth appropriately
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and relationship-building skills

• Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist; lift and carry as needed
• Operate a telephone and computer; manage files and documents

• Driver’s License
• Food Handler’s Card (if required by role)
