Join Our Mission:
Support Families on Their Path to Recovery as a Family Engagement Coordinator!

Are you passionate about supporting families, removing barriers, and helping parents succeed in their recovery journey? At Community-Minded Enterprises (CME), we believe families should have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.

As a Family Engagement Coordinator, you’ll support the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), which connects parents participating in outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring treatment in Spokane County with high-quality child care and out-of-school-time programs at no cost while they participate in treatment activities.

In this role, you’ll work directly with parents to develop child care plans, connect families with community resources, and build relationships with child care providers and treatment partners. Your work will help create consistency and stability for children while reducing child care barriers so parents can focus on their treatment and recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work individually with parents participating in outpatient SUD and co-occurring treatment to develop and maintain child care plans that support their treatment goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to help parents successfully maintain their child care arrangements.
  • Recruit and engage qualifying families for the CCAP program.
  • Recruit and build relationships with licensed child care providers participating in CCAP.
  • Collaborate with treatment agencies and community partners throughout Spokane County.
  • Help families identify and navigate community resources based on their individual needs.
  • Facilitate Parent Trust peer support groups and Play and Learn groups.
  • Work collaboratively with CME's Early Learning, Family Services, and Recovery and Behavioral Health Services teams to coordinate services for families.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation and data, including attendance, intake forms, surveys, participant feedback, and Reliatrax records.
  • Compile required monthly and annual program reports.
  • Support responsible use of program funding and completion of contract requirements and deliverables.
  • Participate in occasional evening and weekend activities based on program needs.
Qualifications Education/Experience
  • Master's degree preferred, with an emphasis in Social Services, Early Learning, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience preferred in case management, family support, service coordination, administration of services, customer service, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals or families impacted by substance use and recovery preferred.
Plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of the recovery process and the needs of individuals participating in SUD treatment.
  • Strong ability to build trusting and professional relationships with families.
  • Experience helping individuals navigate community services and resources.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with child care providers, treatment agencies, community partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience facilitating groups, peer-support activities, or family-focused programming.
  • Strong organization, documentation, data collection, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and family structures.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
Certificates and Licenses
  • Current valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation with required liability insurance.
  • CCAR Recovery Coach Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to pass ongoing background checks.
Language Ability
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with parents, child care providers, treatment partners, community organizations, and coworkers.
  • Ability to listen effectively, respond to questions, facilitate groups, and communicate information to individuals with different needs and experiences.
  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports, correspondence, documentation, and program records.
  • Ability to read and interpret program requirements, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Math Ability
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and calculate rates, ratios, and percentages as needed for program reporting and tracking.
