Role

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on developing and securing our platforms and products. In this role, you will oversee and support the development of manufacturing tests and software features, driving both short-term initiatives and long-term improvement strategies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and play a key role in shaping the future of hardware and software testing.

This is a unique opportunity to lead in a fast-paced environment where customer satisfaction and innovation go hand in hand. As part of this position, you will be responsible for supporting the evaluation and execution of current and future software releases and platform projects within the Product Development organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for a system tools and solutions team, whose primary role is to integrate between hardware, software, and test teams.
  • Estimate project scope and support teams with resource planning and execution strategies.
  • Collaborate across multi-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of initiatives and successful project outcomes.
  • Foster growth within a team of software engineers, developing the team’s technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
  • Engage with stakeholders and customers to resolve escalations and architect solutions to challenges.
  • Uphold the company’s ethical standards, policies, and procedures, while promptly addressing any violations.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the immediate organization(s).
  • Drive technical solutions and innovation to creatively solve problems using current software development practices with AI integrations.
  • Act as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Ensure milestones are being met; monitor, track and make them visible.
  • Take ownership of additional responsibilities as required, adapting to evolving business needs.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Deep knowledge of product software/hardware initiatives, encompassing areas such as Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC), security architectures, and software vulnerability management (CVEs).
  • Hands-on experience leading and growing high-performing teams of software engineers.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a balance of technical expertise and strategic thought.
  • Effective collaboration skills, enabling success in fast-paced, dynamic environments that are geographically diverse.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal, including contributions through whitepapers, presentations, or publications.
  • A consistent record of fostering teamwork, promoting ideas, and successfully influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Recognized as a trusted technical leader and subject matter expert in key product areas.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours or travel (approximately 5%), as business needs require.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2+ years in engineering leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in system architecture, coding practices, modern software development tools, and secure software design.
