Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Golf Operations Manager and the Director of Club Operations in delivering a high-quality golf experience for the club's members and guests. This role focuses on golf shop operations, member service, instruction, merchandising, and tournament administration in a private club environment, while upholding the club's standards of professionalism and service.
Experience Required- PGA Associate or PGA Class A Professional preferred
- Experience working in a private club environment is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a service-first mindset
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Provide exceptional, personalized service to members and their guests
- Greet members, manage tee times, and handle inquiries in person, by phone, and electronically
- Build positive relationships with members and contribute to a welcoming golf culture
- Uphold club policies, traditions, and service standards
- Assist with daily golf shop operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Operate the POS system and accurately process sales transactions
- Assist with merchandising, inventory management, receiving, and product displays
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional golf shop environment
- Provide private golf instruction as opportunities arise
- Provide group golf instruction as assigned
- Assist with clinics, player development programs, junior golf, and member programming
- Promote lessons, fittings, and golf programs to enhance member engagement
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of member tournaments and events
- Support tournament setup, scoring, rules administration, and communication with participants
Ensure events run smoothly and reflect the club's standards
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Rules of Golf
- Actively pursue PGA Professional education and development
- Represent the club in a professional and positive manner at all times
