Summary of Functions:

The Kalispel Golf and Country Club Golf Shop Assistant exists to enhance the golf experience of the membership and guests of KGCC while ensuring that customer service standards are consistently being met or exceeded. This individual will be held to the highest standards of conduct at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • To understand and respond to all member and guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner and in conjunction with Kalispel Hospitality.
  • To greet all members and guests upon their arrival and assist them with any directions or information they may need.
  • To keep organization and cleanliness of golf shop, inventory, fixtures, and equipment.
  • To assist members and non-members with tee time acquisition in line with club rules.
  • To assist members and non-members with merchandise sales including providing information of products, prices, and assisting in payment transactions.
  • Getting golfers checked in and payments received, if necessary.
  • Assisting the professional staff with monitoring member services staff, pace of play on the golf course, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring Kalispel Hospitality is in effect at all times.
  • To advise the golf professional staff of any member or guest complaints so they may be professionally resolved.
  • To be knowledgeable about all goods and services offered by the Club and to actively promote them to our membership and guests.
  • May be required to be a panelist for an IRB hiring.
  • Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record and showing up to work on time.
  • Additional duties as assigned by golf operations management staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Experience
  • Previous work experience at a golf facility preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Employee must have strong interpersonal skills that allow him/her to engage the membership and guests, manage situations involving conflict, and be able to complete responsibilities without direct supervision.
  • Basic golf knowledge preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
  • To establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Point of Sale (POS).
Other Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribe Work Permit.
  • Valid driver's license (Must be in possession while operating a Tribal Vehicle).
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Physical Demands

  • Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • This position requires significant amounts of standing or walking.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to tobacco smoke, hot / cold outdoor conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, repetitive motions, extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
