Overview

Paratransit Driver

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Driver to join our elite team in Spokane, WA. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Position and Compensation
  • CBA Position:
    Full-Time
  • Position Subject To Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • $24.00 - $29.00 (Union Payscale);
    Starting pay $24.00 with progression to $25.00 over 1 year
Key Responsibilities
  • Safety-Focused Operations:
    Execute operations by following designated routes and schedules, adhering to safety protocols and traffic regulations.
  • Passenger Care:
    Provide care and assistance to passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation.
  • Vehicle Vigilance:
    Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and maintain cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
  • Adherence to Protocols:
    Uphold company policies and procedures, including seat belt enforcement, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • 21 years or older
  • Valid CDL Class C with passenger endorsement, or a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years with the ability to obtain a CDL through paid training
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis
Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperatures and weather conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside; work alone and in remote locations
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances; may involve sloped ground, slippery or uneven surfaces
  • Push/pull objects up to 200 pounds; lift up to 50 lbs; occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas and exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
