Truck Dispatcher — Flatbed / Step-Deck / Conestoga
Inland Transport, LLC is hiring an experienced truck dispatcher at our Spokane, Washington terminal. You will book and manage flatbed, step-deck, and Conestoga loads across all 48 contiguous states for our company drivers and lease‑on owner-operators. We have been moving open‑deck freight since 2013 with consistent shipper relationships, a clean operation, and a dispatch model built around keeping drivers turning miles.
The RoleYou own a desk of 8 to 15 trucks. Source loads off the major boards and direct shippers, negotiate rates, build profitable round‑trips, communicate ETAs and handle problems (detention, breakdowns, weather routing). You are the bridge between the driver, the shipper, and the safety/billing side of the office.
This is a full‑time, in‑office position at our Spokane terminal — not remote. Dispatch works best face‑to‑face with the rest of the office. Compensation is structured as a 1099 contract.
What You’ll Do- Source and book loads off DAT, Truckstop, and direct shippers
- Negotiate rates & build profitable round‑trips
- Manage check‑calls, ETAs, and load status updates
- Match loads to driver experience and trailer type
- Handle detention, breakdowns, weather, and load problems
- Work with safety, billing, and the recruiter as one team
- Keep drivers turning miles — not waiting on broken loads
- Maintain shipper and broker relationships
- NinjaTMS for dispatch, GPS tracking, and settlements
- DAT and Truckstop load boards
- Direct shipper relationships built up since 2013
- ELD platform tied into the TMS
In‑office at 8512 N Wall St Suite C, Spokane. Standard weekday hours with occasional after‑hours and weekend coverage when trucks are out — the desk rotates so you are not on call every night.
PayPay is based on experience and the desk you take over. A recruiter will walk you through specifics on a first call. Structured as a 1099 contract.
Requirements- 2+ years of truckload dispatch experience (open‑deck strongly preferred)
- Comfortable on DAT, Truckstop, and a real TMS
- Strong negotiator — you can book a profitable round‑trip, not just fill a truck
- Calm under pressure — detention, breakdowns, and weather are part of the job
- Solid working knowledge of HOS, FMCSA rules, and open‑deck securement basics
- Able to work in‑office in Spokane, WA
