AFCO Distribution & Milling is a division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply, based in Burlington, WA, has been in business since 1934, and continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and communities in the Pacific Northwest. The company operates Agronomy, Propane, Refined Fuels and Wholesale divisions as well as retail Country Store locations in Washington, Idaho & Montana.

AFCO serves over 800 retailers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Alaska. The company distributes over 7,000 products including animal feed, wildlife products, pet food and supplies, fencing and livestock equipment. Customers receive weekly orders within our routed territories. Delivery is provided by a fleet of company trucks from the company’s distribution center warehouses.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct routine safety checks on vehicles and ensure compliance with DOT-regulated pre- and post-trip inspection requirements.
- Safely operate all aspects of a tractor-trailer to transport goods.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Unload customer orders using a pallet jack and lift-gate.
- Maintain accurate electronic driving logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or violations promptly.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and equipment, adhering to OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with management and the customer service department to address customer issues or changes.
- Develop and maintain courteous and professional relationships with customers.
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Class A Interstate Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Maintain a safe and insurable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Safe and insurable driving record, maintained throughout employment.
- Be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for the operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
- Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings, including background check and drug test.
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and applicable DOT requirements.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull 60 pounds.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow verbal or written directions.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Previous experience operating commercial vehicles with a DOT-regulated employer.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work long hours and/or weekends.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
This is a full-time, 40+ hours per week position. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
$28.00 – $32.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
