Paratransit Driver

We are currently seeking an experienced Bus Driver to provide safe and comfortable transportation for passengers in Spokane, WA. Responsibilities include operating a bus, maintaining schedules, ensuring passenger safety, performing vehicle inspections, and following company and regulatory policies.

• Paid training to obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement
• Union Collective Bargaining Agreement salary: $24.00–$29.00 per hour
• Starting pay $24.00, progression to $25.00 after 1 year of service

• Execute operations by following designated routes, schedules, safety protocols, and traffic regulations.
• Provide exceptional passenger care; facilitate boarding and disembarkation, and maintain a comfortable interior environment.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and ensure cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
• Enforce seat‑belt usage, emergency preparedness, and other company policies.
• Perform other duties as required by the organization.

• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid CDL Class C with passenger endorsement, or a valid driver’s license with minimum 3 years of experience and ability to obtain a CDL through paid training.
• Minimum three years of driving experience (personal or professional).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work shifts and flexible schedules.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and medical physical if applicable.

• Work outdoors in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions (100% outdoor duty).
• Sit for extended periods (6–8 hours per day) and walk long distances on uneven or slippery surfaces.
• Push and pull objects up to 200 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch.
• Operate in heavy traffic and tolerate dust, fumes, and noise.

• Vacation: 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 3 years, 3 weeks after 7 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years.
• Paid sick leave: 4 hours monthly for employees working over 80 hours per month; one hour for every 40 hours over 160 hours.
• Holidays: 9 days (8 standard, 1 floating).
