Job Overview

As a Class A CDL Driver for UNFI, you will support the Ridgefield Distribution Center by delivering palletized products to corporate and independent retail stores. The essential functions and basic duties include performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspection of the vehicle, loading and handling procedures, delivering and unloading products, reviewing paperwork for completeness and accuracy, checking orders, correcting addresses, completing time cards, entering trip data, and completing paper logs if necessary.

This position will be based out of the Spokane domicile.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and unload products utilizing equipment such as tractor trailer, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, load bars, and other devices.
  • Operate vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines, minimizing accidents, traffic violations, and complaints from the public.
  • Report any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department.
  • Keep vehicles well maintained, safe, and secure, reporting any defects promptly using the DCVR form.
  • Pick up supplies and back hauls from vendors while completing related paperwork.
  • Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate.
  • Ensure customer orders arrive in quality condition and correspond precisely to the initial order.

Education/Certification

  • Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a valid state‑specific Commercial Driver’s License, Class

    A.
  • Ability to pass a road test.

Required skills and experience

  • Prefer minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and mandates.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of shipping and receiving functions.
  • Good judgment; may operate without immediate supervision at times.
Compensation

UNFI anticipates paying the above‑referenced pay rate (or within the above‑referenced pay range) for this position. Actual pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. UNFI is committed to transparency in pay in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
