Essential Responsibilities

  • Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility, according to storage requirements, shelf‑life regulations, and staging procedures.
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
  • Ensuring loads are properly secure, including performing material handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material.
  • Stacking and storage of empty pallets, crates, etc.
  • Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment.
  • Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places.
  • Disposal of waste materials/recyclables through the use and movement of machine hoppers, roll‑offs, and other required equipment.
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.
  • Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage. Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
  • This position can alternate between outdoor and indoor environments, potentially exposing employees to environmental hazards.
  • Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties as approved per management.
  • Conduct assigned portions of inventories. Uses bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals. May require a CAC for system access.
  • Operate a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse.
  • Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Perform all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Twelve months job related experience and/or training is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general‑purpose vehicle.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • This position requires the candidate to pass a pre‑employment physical examination and urinary analysis.
  • Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

    Note:

    US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20–60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $26.49 (Hourly rate set by CBA)

This position includes a competitive benefits package, to include:

  • Employees are provided with $7.50 per hour paid, up to 80 hours per pay period for the purchase of the following benefits: medical, dental, AD&D insurance, vision, life insurance, long‑term disability, employee assistance program, and short‑term disability.
  • Paid vacation. Annual allotment in the form of a biweekly accrual: 144 hours for 0–5 years of service, 194 hours for 5–10 years of service, 224 hours for 10–15 years of service, and 264 for more than 15 years of service.

  • 11 Paid holidays annually (prorated dependent on hire date)
