Bidfood Richlands is looking for a Customer Service Manager to lead and support our much‑loved customer service team. As the first point of contact for chefs, cafés, restaurants and caterers who order from us every day, this team is central to how our customers experience Bidfood.
In this hands‑on leadership role, you’ll make sure calls are answered, orders are processed, problems are solved and your team feel supported while they do it. Whether you’re stepping up from a senior customer service role or bringing existing management experience, this is your chance to shape the culture of the team and deliver service customers can count on.
About the roleReporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of customer service at the branch. This means leading a small, close‑knit team of representatives who handle inbound orders, customer queries and day‑to‑day support for our sales reps.
Your role is about more than just keeping things running smoothly; it’s about setting high standards, creating a supportive environment and ensuring customers experience the best service in the industry.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor and coach the customer service team
- Ensure customer orders and enquiries are processed quickly and accurately
- Monitor performance, set goals and support continuous improvement
- Work with sales and operations teams to resolve issues and improve service
- Identify opportunities to promote products and services
- Manage day‑to‑day administration and reporting
You have a background in food service, warehousing or telesales and you know what it takes to deliver great service in a busy environment. You’re approachable, organised and people naturally look to you for guidance. You balance structure with empathy, bringing out the best in your team by listening, encouraging and holding people accountable.
Calm under pressure, you set the tone when things get busy. Your professionalism helps the team stay focused and deliver outstanding service and you take pride in the reputation that comes with leading well. At the same time, you value balance outside of work and understand that people perform best when they feel supported.
Skills and experience- Proven customer service experience, ideally in a team leader or manager role
- Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent phone, email and face‑to‑face communication skills
- Confidence with computer systems and ability to learn new platforms
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
- A solutions‑focused mindset and ability to build strong working relationships
- Hospitality, retail or food service industry experience will be highly regarded
