If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the Process Engineer position the Process Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the product interface with product development, contributing to the engineering change management process, supporting continuous improvement and production, and participating in the manufacturing engineering network.
You will also design, implement, and monitor the production processes, ensuring the feasibility, productivity, and quality of the products.
Position Summary: The role of a Controls Engineer is responsible for industrial controls for the Spring Hill plant that includes working with project managers, maintenance, and process engineers to help develop, improve, and maintain industrial equipment; can include verifying suppliers are following Mechanical, Robotic & Electrical standards. Other responsibilities include:
- Support new and current automation projects in Spring Hill
- Work on shop floor for programs supporting mechanical tooling, robotics programming, electrical troubleshooting, cycle time improvements, and machine debugging
- Work with the Maintenance department to develop preventive maintenance for automation cells, and lead techs to perform these tasks
- Lead minor automation upgrades to serial programs with focus on reducing non-ergonomic operations, reducing MOD, etc.
- Interface with the Automation team in FIS, BG, sharing best practices, aligning deployments of new systems
- Autonomously carry out follow‑up of technical files, design studies, startup testing, and maintenance readiness of the automatic functions integrated by suppliers in the production equipment
- Pro‑active behavior for acquiring, developing, and sharing technical competencies
- Coach and develop technician knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and controls diagnosis
- Maintain backup program archive to recover from breakdowns
- Minimize equipment downtime and perform continuous improvement actions to improve TRS on overall production system
- Support commitments established in the ISO 14001 environmental policy
- Conform to requirements established in Spring Hill Plant ISO 14001 EMS procedure and work instructions
- Ensure members in assigned area(s) of responsibility conform to relevant EMS requirements
- Support environmental programs to achieve objectives and targets
- Follow values established within Being Faurecia, act with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as with autonomy and accountability
- Act in accordance with the behaviors established in Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
- Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company
- Follow industry standard LOTO procedures
Position Specifications: Authorities: manage, coordinate, and implement through in‑house or contractors; alter or create documentation for work cells and associated areas
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Three to five years of experience with automation in a manufacturing engineering department or in automation design and robot programming
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tooling (EOAT, Sonics, bowl feeders, slides, sensors, etc.)
- Electrical schematic skills
- Camera verification software (Cognex, Keyence, Sick, etc.)
- Able to coach and share personal knowledge to others
- Preferred understanding of automotive interior processes and technologies
- Proficient technical skills on product and process
- Proficient level of English required
