Gulfview Vision Associates, a leading optometry practice in Port Richey, FL, is seeking a compassionate Optometrist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and perform specialized contact lens fittings for a diverse patient population. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, ocular health assessments, and dilated fundus exams for patients of varying ages
- Evaluate, fit, and manage soft, rigid gas permeable, toric, and specialty contact lenses
- Diagnose and manage common ocular diseases such as glaucoma, dry eye, conjunctivitis, and diabetic retinopathy within scope of practice
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and appropriate therapeutic treatments, ensuring accurate and clear patient instructions
- Provide patient education on eye health, preventive care, treatment options, and proper use of corrective lenses and medications
- Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality testing, and an excellent patient experience
- Coordinate care with primary care physicians, ophthalmologists, and other healthcare providers as necessary for comprehensive patient management
- Stay current with advances in optometry, diagnostic equipment, and treatment protocols through continuing education and professional development

Required Skills
- Comprehensive eye examination techniques
- Refraction and prescription of corrective lenses
- Contact lens fitting and management (including specialty lenses)
- Diagnosis and management of common ocular diseases
- Use of diagnostic equipment (slit lamp, tonometry, retinal imaging, visual fields)
- Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Interpretation of diagnostic test results
- Patient education and counseling
- Clinical decision-making and treatment planning
