Overview
Works under the general direction of the Tax Collector or Chief Deputy overseeing internal and external communications including web, social media, video production, and other marketing channels in support of the organization’s objectives and initiatives. Ability to perform the following, with or without an accommodation under the ADA:
Responsibilities- Provide expertise and creative input on the development and use of digital communications tools.
- Create and distribute communications to key audiences using various methods such as web, intranet, social media, video, and email marketing; conduct usability testing.
- Design, develop, and execute the organization’s social media strategy.
- Coordinate with key staff and other stakeholders to gather information required to develop, implement, and maintain HCTC’s internal and external digital media content and other communication materials.
- Develop and deploy comprehensive communication plans on key initiatives, services, and events.
- Create, write/edit, and publish communication tools such as advertisements, blogs, e-newsletter, press releases, and alerts to disseminate information to the public and HCTC employees.
- Coordinate with other departments to develop resources such as templates, graphics, and content to drive effective digital communications initiatives.
- Monitor, manage and report on key communications measures, web analytics, and search engine optimization and adjust content to improve performance.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in communications and social media.
- Assist with the planning and execution of special events and community outreach.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field; and
- 3 years of experience in communications or a related field.
- An equivalent level of education and experience may be substituted as permitted by law.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class E or above FL Driver License
- Safe Driving Record
- Considerable knowledge of digital communications tools and the ability to leverage those tools to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of relevant social media platforms and social media management software.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Share Point, Adobe Creative Suite, various web and social media platforms and email campaign software.
- Skilled in graphic design and printing processes, photo, audio, and video equipment.
- Office policies and the related laws, regulations, practices and procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, drive innovation, and develop unique solutions and ideas.
- Ability to manage projects and work effectively on teams to execute organizational strategy
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with other departments and vendors.
- Ability to conduct research, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Work requires regular and reliable attendance
Ability to perform the following, with or without an accommodation under the ADA:
- Work is typically sedentary but requires standing or walking up to 50% of the time.
- Some tasks may involve reaching, pulling, pushing, climbing, bending, or lifting (up to 40 lbs.).
- Work is generally accomplished daily in-office, not remote.
- Work is generally performed in an indoor office environment without hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, or adverse weather or environmental conditions. When attending certain events or work activities, work may be performed outside with potential for exposure to adverse weather and environmental conditions including but not limited to dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes, humidity, rain, and temperature and noise extremes.
