Registered Nurse - Ortho​/Spine

Key Responsibilities

• Assembles table for all procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of necessary equipment.
• Locates needed supplies/equipment in a timely manner.
• Handles and transports medications and solutions safely in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Documents accurately and timely.
• Communicates with physicians and other team members regarding patient information, scheduling information, and supplies needed.
• Reproduces exams on CD/film.
• Seeks opportunities to assist in other areas during downtime and makes good use of time.
• Maintains a clean, organized, well‑stocked, and clutter‑free workspace.
• Works well with fellow employees to provide the most efficient use of equipment, enabling throughput of patients.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• RCIS preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of hire) or any Tennessee state licensure that allows the administration of medication; must be in compliance with CE requirements.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must respond to hospital within thirty minutes for on‑call requirements.
• At least one year of direct patient care experience.
• Familiarity with Meditech computer system and Site Rite.
• Proficient use of guide wires, catheters, and other necessary supplies.

• Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to transport patients on stretchers or beds up to 250 lbs, either dependently or independently.
• Makes appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations.
• Works well under pressure.
