Overview

This entry level supervisory position manages the Retail Banker associates in conformance with established Bank policies and procedures. The Retail Assistant Office Manager ensures clients are served promptly and the Retail Banker office team balances at the end of each day. Provides leadership in delivering consistent, predictable and exceptional client experiences, referring additional services and products to clients. Motivates and leads the team to achieve goals and objectives, supports all aspects of the office in union with the Retail Office Manager while driving the associate experience.

Partners with Retail Office Manager, Internal Control Specialist (ICS) and Retail Regional Manager to meet service and sales goals of the office. Responsible for own transactional drawer and makes decisions on behalf of the Retail Banking Office in the absence of the Retail Office Manager. All associates at Capital City Bank, Capital City Wealth, and Capital City Home Loans have access to confidential client information and must practice discretion at all times.

Principal

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Retail Bankers and serve as an example of providing excellent client experience, including building relationships and engaging clients in needs‑based conversation.
  • Lead new Retail Banker training in the office and continue ongoing training of bank and transaction policies and procedures; comply with Training Check List and Retail Banker Certification Check List.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to the team utilizing performance management tools to attract, retain, and develop talent in the office.
  • Manage associate performance and new hire selection.
  • Maintain performance standards and investigate and report shortages or overages in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the Retail Bankers in escalated client complaints and concerns; work with the Retail Office Manager, as needed, for resolution.
  • Provide solutions to clients while identifying opportunities and acting on them.
  • Prepare and conduct reviews for Retail Bankers and make salary recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with cash targets established for the office through CETO system.
  • Perform weekly/bi‑weekly cash duties in compliance with procedures.
  • Ensure adequacy of currency in ordering and balancing for the office.
  • Perform all principal duties and responsibilities of a Retail Banker as needed.
Associated Duties
  • Act in support of the entire office in the absence of the Retail Office Manager.
  • Attend Delivery Management meetings as required.
  • Meet production goals defined by Retail Office Manager and Bank.
  • Be responsible for overrides, as applicable.
  • Ensure security functions are completed timely, including all clear signal, security alarm testing, separation audits, open/close procedures, over/short GL review.
  • Provide oversight of key/combo log.

    Maintain error rates within specified guidelines.
  • Provide additional support to manager and department colleagues.
  • Complete all assigned/required Bank training within established timelines.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and a wide range of procedures, requiring some independent judgment.
  • Demonstrate sales via being a good banker.
  • Requires concentration to avoid mistakes in counting cash.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations using various business machines and/or computers.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to print legibly and accurately on forms and records.
  • Must have attained the age of 18 for coverage under insurance bond.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.
