Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Location:
Spring Hill, FL. Great overtime potential to help get the project caught up! Project Duration:
Long term project. Pay Rate:
Competitive based on experience.
Shift: Daylight – 6:30am to 6:30pm and Night shift 6:30pm to 6:30am (12hr shifts).
Schedule:
Monday – Saturday – (will require working 60+hrs each week).
The I&C Electrical Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating electrical, instrumentation, and control systems used throughout the facility. This position supports plant operations by ensuring equipment reliability, proper calibration, and safe, efficient performance of automated systems.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot electrical equipment including motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), and related systems
- Perform continuity testing, Megger testing, and ground fault testing
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems for machine-mounted controls
- Calibrate instrumentation and valve positioners
- Monitor performance of rotating equipment and control devices
- Prepare and maintain calibration, maintenance, and service reports
- Advise on spare parts usage, maintenance planning, and inventory needs
- Act as backup operator in emergency situations as required
- Assist plant supervision with mechanical maintenance when feasible
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in work areas
- Follow all safety procedures and site requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant instrumentation and controls experience
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience with PLCs and HMIs
- Hands‑on experience with modern instrumentation and control equipment including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, sensors, and VFDs
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects
- Excellent attention to detail and a team‑oriented mindset
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a professional, positive attitude
- Ability to apply common‑sense reasoning to written, verbal, and diagram‑based instructions
Two‑year technical degree preferred, but equivalent hands‑on experience will be considered. Previous experience working in industrial water or process treatment facilities is highly preferred. Familiarity with systems such as pretreatment, demineralization, reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, EDI, thermal desalination, or zero‑liquid discharge is a plus.
