Our church is seeking a full time or bi-vocational pastor for a congregation of about 80 members. We are a small country church with both older retired members and younger families with children. The pastor’s duties would primarily revolve around spiritual leadership, preaching, teaching, and pastoral care. He would be responsible for leading worship services, providing Biblical guidance, and nurturing the congregation’s spiritual growth.
He would also engage in counseling, community outreach, and administrative tasks related to church operations.
Job Description
- Preaching and Teaching:
- Prepares and delivers sermons:
Crafts and delivers weekly sermons that interpret Biblical Scripture and its teachings to help the congregation apply it to their personal lives. - Leads Bible studies, Sunday school classes, and other educational opportunities to help members grow in their understanding of the Bible and Christian theology.

Provides guidance and support to individuals and families facing various life challenges, including spiritual, emotional, and relational issues.

- Visits the sick and bereaved:
- Offers comfort and support to those who are ill, home bound, or grieving the loss of a loved one.
- Officiates at special services:
- Officiates weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other special services.
- Nurtures and equips the congregation:
- Encourages and equips church members to live out their faith in daily life and participate in ministry.
- Worship Leadership:
- Leads in worship services:
Lead worship services, which may include leading prayers, guiding congregational singing, and coordinating other elements of the worship service - Collaborates with music leaders:
Works with music leaders to create meaningful and spiritually enriching worship experiences.

Helps the church discern God’s will and set a course for the future. - Oversees church staff and volunteers:
Supervises and supports church staff and volunteers in their various roles. - Participates in church decision-making:
