Front Desk Dental Assistant
Dental Care of Spring Hill, part of Heartland Dental, is seeking a skilled Business Assistant to manage front office operations in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment. This role focuses on client interaction, office coordination, and billing support to enable smooth clinical services.
Responsibilities- Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression.
- Handle front‑office duties: answer phones, process mail and e‑mail, and communicate with patients and insurance companies.
- Use Dentrix for patient scheduling and record maintenance.
- Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers.
- File patient insurance claims, verify benefits, and follow up on outstanding claims with explanation of coverage.
- Process payments and accounts receivable; record insurance and patient payments.
- Review treatment plans, fees, and payment options with patients.
- Collaborate with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office potential.

- Schedule:
Monday through Friday.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Will have access to PHI; requires complete HIPAA training; must protect PHI and maintain safeguards.
- At least one year in a dental or medical setting.
- At least one year of insurance billing and accounts receivable experience.
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
- Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Availability for virtual or in‑person training sessions as needed.
- All new hires must complete a tuberculosis test, except in FL & TN states.
