• Ohio Teaching License – Professional License Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education
• Prior experience working with students with reading difficulties preferred
• Alternatives to the listed qualifications considered

• Take and pass KPEERI (Knowledge and Practice Examination for Effective Reading Instruction)

• Determines reading and skill deficiencies
• Provides instruction in the areas of need
• Progress monitors academic progress and communicates progress to parents
• Formative and summative skills testing of students
• Supports classroom learning by communicating with the classroom teacher
• Educate parents on how to support a student with reading
• Participate in conferences about students
• Assesses students as needed and supports the school with testing as permissible
