Position:
Process Engineer (Plant Controls Engineer - Spring Hill)
- Support new and current automation projects in Spring Hill.
- Work on shop floor for programs supporting mechanical tooling, robotics programming, electrical troubleshooting, cycle time improvements, and machine debugging.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance department to develop preventive maintenance plans for automation cells and lead technicians in performing these tasks.
- Lead minor automation upgrades to serial programs with a focus on reducing non‑ergonomic operations and improving system reliability.
- Interface with the Automation team in FIS and BG, sharing best practices and aligning deployments of new systems.
- Autonomously follow up on technical files, design studies, startup testing, and maintenance readiness of automatic functions integrated by suppliers in production equipment.
- Display proactive behavior for the acquisition, development, and sharing of technical competencies.
- Coach and develop technician knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and controls diagnosis.
- Maintain backup program archive for recovery from breakdowns.
- Minimize equipment downtime and implement continuous improvement actions to enhance production system reliability.
- Support commitments established in the ISO
14001 Environmental Policy and comply with plant ISO
14001 EMS procedures. - Ensure members in the assigned area(s) of responsibility conform to relevant EMS requirements.
- Support environmental programs to achieve objectives and targets.
- Follow company values and act with an entrepreneurial mindset, autonomy, and accountability.
- Act in accordance with the behaviors established in the Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
- Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the company.
- Follow industry standard LOTO procedures.
- Manage, coordinate, and implement operations through in‑house or contractor resources.
- Alter or create documentation for work cells and associated areas.
- Change machine programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Three to five years of experience with automation in manufacturing engineering or automation design and robot programming.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tooling (EOAT, sonics, bowl feeders, slides, sensors, etc.).
- Competency in electrical schematics.
- Experience in robot programming (Fanuc, AAB, UR).
- Familiarity with camera verification software (Cognex, Keyence, Sick, etc.).
- Ability to coach and share personal knowledge with others.
- Preferred understanding of automotive interior processes and technologies.
- Proficient technical skills in product and process.
- Proficient communication skills.
- Proficient level of English required.
