As one of the fastest-growing warehousing and logistics companies in North America, we’re looking for an experienced MAINTENANCE MANAGER - CONTROLS. The exceptional candidate should have Third Party Logistics and Tier I Automotive experience:
Responsibilities- Lead and manage a maintenance team comprised of maintenance supervisors and maintenance technicians on all shifts. This includes hands-on responsibility in installing and maintaining production machines and the plant facilities equipment.
- Coach team members to utilize work instructions, processes and problem solving on the floor.
- Lead all phases of daily, weekly, monthly maintenance tasks.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance and inspections on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Lead supervisors and technicians in performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Program, test and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems and controls (Siemens - Step 7, Allen Bradley - Ladder Logic).
- Seek continuous improvement on processes and safety for the entire maintenance function within the plant.
- Achieve site performance for uptime, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness and building maintenance.
- Presence on the plant floor requiring occasional work in challenging weather including heat and cold.
- Bachelor’s Degree with preference in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or Electrician Journeyman Card and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years maintenance management experience.
- PLC programming competency including the ability to write, troubleshoot and understand ladder logic.
- Computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office Suites, Outlook, RFID scanning equipment.
- Assembly experience is highly desirable such as Wheel and Tire assembly and/or other automotive assembly.
- Working knowledge of value-added subassembly for both chassis and trim components and modules.
- Understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles.
- Automotive background experience required specifically with experience related to sequencing, just-in-time (JIT) and sub-assembly.
